Hot Topics – Redistricting Reform

Join fellow Leaguers and others interested in this critical topic, to learn more about how to stop gerrymandering.
The General Assembly is currently debating the 2021 redistricting process that will happen when the 2020 Census data is available. Last year a constitutional amendment passed, with bipartisan support, stating that a Commission of legislators and citizens would draw electoral maps. The amendment must now pass the legislature a second time and then go onto the November ballot for voters. Legislators are also proposing laws that detail how the process will work. Redistricting will happen in 2021 one way or another, so now is the time to raise our voices.
