Richmond area Forum on Virginia’s Housing Crisis

September 12, 2023 @ 6:00 pm

Come hear from local experts and the candidates for Virginia’s Senate and House of Delegates about what the state legislature can do to impact affordable housing! The panel will be moderated by VPM reporter Michael Pope.

Accessing safe, sanitary, stable and affordable housing has become increasingly challenging throughout the Commonwealth of Virginia. Residential rents increased over the past year for 60% of Virginia’s tenants. “Starter homes” with price tags below $200,000 have almost completely disappeared from the Richmond region, moving homeownership so far out of reach that most area tenants don’t see themselves ever being able to become homeowners. Housing has become one of the top concerns of voters in the Richmond region and beyond.

Dinner will be provided.

Spanish interpretation will be offerd. Please indicate your language preference on the next page to ensure there are sufficient headsets for those who need it.
