Are you interested in building your advocacy skills to push for good governance legislation in Virginia?
You are invited to a December 7th roundtable discussion entitled "Democracy is Brewing in Richmond" focused on building advocacy skills in the areas of fair representation, money in politics, and redistricting.
Organized by the non-partisan groups UpVoteVA , BigMoneyOutVA, League of Women Voters of Richmond Metropolitan Area, the event will be held at 6:00-7:30 pm in the Annex of the Main Public Library, 101 E Franklin St, Richmond. This event, along with others being organized around the state, aims to build advocacy for good governance legislation, culminating in a "Democracy Day" on January 23rd in Richmond, organized by a broad coalition of non-partisan partners.
During this "Democracy is Brewing" event, participants will:
- Learn more about key democracy issues, such as getting big money out of politics, ranked choice voting, redistricting, and ensuring voting access.
- Understand better the legislative process of our General Assembly
- Identify how you can take action and make a difference in the 2024 legislative session in Richmond
