Starting at 9:30 a.m. (Zoom)
LWV Richmond Metro
Annual Advocacy Program Planning Meeting
Wondering what the League does and what you can do in the League?
Be Part of the All-Member Meeting When We Plan Our Advocacy Action for the Upcoming Year
The featured speaker for our meeting will be Rev. Benjamin P. Campbell, Pastoral Associate at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, Pastoral Director of Richmond Hill spiritual retreat center, civil rights activist, and author of Richmond’s Unhealed History,
Reverend Campbell’s presentation will focus on how metropolitan Richmond came to have the geographic, economic, and racial profile that it does. His topic ties directly to one of our primary goals for this meeting, which is to determine our regional advocacy program for the upcoming year. Toward that goal, we will talk about what local League advocacy means, our existing Richmond Metro advocacy committees, and the local advocacy initiatives we may want to inaugurate – all driven by the interests and commitments of our local members. In this meeting we will also review Richmond Metro and LWV-VA advocacy positions. And – despite being on Zoom yet again – we hope to have some fun and catch up with League friends.
