The Richmond area League held its annual Voter Registration Training on Saturday, July 27, 2019 at the Glen Allen Library in Henrico. This year we partnered with the Richmond Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., which assisted greatly by advertising the event as well as registering participants and greeting them at the door.
Attended by about 50 guests, it was led by Garry Ellis, Virginia Department of Elections, and proved to be an interesting and informative session. Mr. Ellis reviewed the qualifications needed to register to vote and appropriate voter IDs. He took the group step-by-step through completing and submitting a registration application. A lively discussion followed during the question-and-answer time. Everyone who attended will be certified to register voters through June 30, 2020.
